Friday Photo: 1960’s Traffic
Many thanks to Robin who sent me this photograph of the Dee Lane/Grange Road junction as was in about 1965 when new drains were installed in West Kirby. I am presuming that the construction work (pictured) opposite the Concourse is the start of the new petrol station. A new petrol station was a pre-condition of Aldi getting planning approval for their yet-to-built store in Bridge Road. Can anyone confirm that is indeed the site of the new garage? Read More →
Wine Bar Plans Rejected
I mentioned about the proposed plans to convert an old West Kirby funeral parlour into a wine bar. Well, the council have rejected those plans as they deemed them unsuitable for a residential area.
