		<description>I have been (belatedly) browsing the West Kirby web-site and came across the photo of Grange Road shops. The one on the left was the newspaper/tobacconists founded by my grandfather, Alfred Harry Absalom (1878-1946) - you can see the ending of the name in the photo. My grandad established the shop (having previously managed the Mackie and Gladstone branch nearby) in about 1912, naming the whole building (which he owned) Havana House. The fishmongers next door, to the right, was, in the 1940/50&#039;s (when I remember it) Harley and Millers fishmongers (Paynes in the photo)</description>
