Friday Photo: Railway Bridge

railway bridge

This is the view from the foot bridge over the Wirral line at Orrysdale Road, looking in the direction of West Kirby station. A regular route for me as I use it as a cut through on one of my runs. Would anybody happen to know when this bridge was built? Please a comment if you do.

Re Bridge by Orrysdale Road School. I went to the High School in 1947 and there was a bridge there then, but I don’t know if it has been rebuilt since then

  2. Heather Chapman says:

The Orrysdale Road footbridge was sanctioned in 1938, but was not actually built until 1946/7 presumably because of WW11.

    Thanks Heather!
