A property in West Kirby is the subject of this week’s Grand Designs television programme.
The modern, box-like house near the top of Grange Hill in West Kirby (photo above) is featured in this week’s Grand Designs (C4, 9pm Wednesday).
[Update]: Due a certain chap named Donald gaining a surprise win in a vote in America, the episode wasn’t broadcast after all. It is now being shown on Thursday 19th at 9pm on C4.
The Radio Times reports:
Stuart and Rosie Treasurer from the Wirral plan to transform a small bungalow from a 1960s dormer (photo below) into a slick piece of 21st-century architecture. The couple decapitate the building and balance a new floating timber box on top to create five bedrooms, spending as little as possible on plumbing, electrics and insulation, but stress levels spiral when neighbours grumble at the ultra-modern creation.
The Grand Designs film crew and presenter Kevin McCloud had been spotted in West Kirby on several occasions over the last 12 months or so. As not every project filmed is featured in the series it’ll be good to see this grand design and West Kirby on TV.
