Wine Bar Plans Rejected

0

I mentioned about the proposed plans to convert an old West Kirby funeral parlour into a wine bar. Well, the council have rejected those plans as they deemed them unsuitable for a residential area. Chairman of Wirral’s planning committee, Cllr David Elderton said:

The concern among committee members was that it was an unneighbourly development. The guidance in our protocols is that developments of this nature should be at least 40m away from residential developments, this was deemed to be 20 metres away.

There was a lot of discussion about stimulating an active night time economy and the idea that Wirral wanted not so much Blackpool-style economy but one which reflected the area.
